As the enemy advanced through our troops, decimating them as they cut them down, we constructed out accelerator below the horizontal plane. It was only half a mile in diameter but it would suffice for the purpose of closing the link.
It was time to put our machine to the test. With the details now fresh at the front of her memory, Alice started the process of the experiment.
“How long will this take?” I asked.
“When we carried out the original experiment it took two days to set up and four hours to conduct. With the conditions replicated, the set up is not required. We can head straight into the experiment. It will take ten minutes under these conditions.”
